Nuts: Please remind your children that nuts should not be eaten in the humanities/ELA classroom. I have reminded them, as well, but we have had two incidents where students have brought nuts and not cleaned up, unbeknownst to myself until after the fact. We want MRA to be a safe place for all our students, even those with allergies.
Homework: Our new homework policy is in full swing, and I am getting much more homework returned than previously. Yippie! The down side, however, is that some students forget and turn in work that is done ten minutes before it due, and usually of very poor quality. I would rather have good, solid, thought-provoking work done a day late; it defeats the purpose of the work if there is no thought or time put into it.
Independent Project: Physical projects should be in full swing. Students should be meeting with me at lunch or after school to get their outlines and first drafts into the best shape they can be. Please check Jupiter, ask your child about his/her progress, and remind him/her to keep the appointment(s) with me.
As always, please don't hesitate to call me with any questions or concerns.
